Rare 19th Century Classical flute & piccolo set
H.F. Meyer (authentic / not "Nach" or after similar to the Meyer design)
H.F. Meyer designed and received the patent for the mechanism, which is outstanding.
This is a rare set, Flute and Piccolo in the Key Of C, Simple System design.
The head joint material on both instruments is Ivory (vintage); the remaining parts of the flute appears to be cocous wood.
The flute and piccolo are in the key of C. The flute plays down to the low B note (same scale and notes as our modern Boehm design flutes / piccolos).
Both instruments blow freely and easily, and provide a very rich multi dimensional tone.
The cases are original and very well made; excellent condition. The case exterior is leather, and has hand embossed floral design on the top of each case.
This set would make an outstanding addition to your collection; and should be played and enjoyed.
The restoration work was completed by a fantastic expert; the outcome is beyond words.
