The Professional Pearl Solid Silver flute. This flute is a true hand made flute, solid silver construction including the keys and mechanisms.

This Pearl Flute is was made in Japan. It is now called the Cantabile.

The current Canantible is PF 8800. This flute is slightly older, and a Japanese model flute, and it has the number PF 8500 on the barrel.

While I do not know the exact age of a flute, I would estimate this flute at approx. 10 to 15 yrs old.

This flute has a lovely tone.

The pads appear new(er) and seal well.

The keys and mechanisms are solid silver, and are not as "quiet" as I would like them to be however, this would not be audible to the audience.

It has been well maintained, and does not appear to have many "miles" on it. Flutes often sit at the manufacturer, and then in customs, and then at dealers long before they are sold. I have seen flutes that have been in dealers inventory for over 8 yrs before selling "new" to a customer.

This unique fantastic Professional grade Pearl Flute retails for approx. $6000 when purchased new.

The Cantabile and Maesta models are the Pearl flutes that are hand made in Japan. These two models are true hand made flutes. I personally like the slightly older Pearl flutes as compared to the brand new Pearl flutes of today. Each is more unique with a gorgoues tone.

Condition
Pre Owned excellent condition. Our technician will perform a thorough inspection and ensure that this flute is playing correctly.

A better method of judging the flute are the mechanical items, and overall playing style of the flute. Some flutes may play and sound good, but have a mechanical flaw, while others look fabulous and may have other problems. We ensure that our customers receive a "good flute".

This flute is very clean, and ready for a player.

It plays with a lovely rich and full tone. The key action is smooth, fast, quiet, and even.

The pads and corks are in excellent condition and do not need changing (every year, ask your flute technicin to change 3 to 6 pads with your clean oil and adjust, and you will never need a total repad).

Thses pads should last 10 to 15 + years. As you can see in the pictures, there is not much wear on the pads. The flute is straight, and appears correct. There is some tarnish that we will remove prior to sale.

Please note that the pads are felt, not the Straubinger pads, which tend to be more costly to use in my opinion, for everyday playing.

About Pearl Flutes
Pearl flutes is a smaller flute company that makes in my opinion, very nice flutes. Its lower line flutes are made in Taiwan in a plant that has been in that location for years, and has a proven quality track record. Used flutes from this plant (if not damaged by the player), have nice fluid quiet key action, tight keys and mechanisms, and a nice tone.

This flute was made in Japan. In my opinion, flutes that are hand made in Japan are top notch quality (brands Altus, Pearl, Muramatsu, Miyazawa, Sankyo, Mateki and a few others).

The Pearl line flutes are slightly smaller in tube size, and maintain the Japanese mid wall (.015). There are few solid silver Pearl flutes onthe pre owned market, and this is a bargain for the flautist that wants a top notch flute that is different from what the other flautists are playing.

It will feel smaller and more comfortable in your hands, and will allow you to place notes easier. It would be appropriate for a strong player (player with wind), with at least a few years under their belt. It may fit many players. I would not recommend this flute for a beginner.

Never Used !! This flute was made a few years ago, and was never used, never a demo!!

This flute plays with a very rich and full tone. The key action is smooth, fast, quiet, and even.

The pads and corks are spotless. We cannot even find any ring marks or show of wear or tear of any kind. The pads are not dry. They should last 20 + years. Please note that the pads are felt, not the Straubinger pads, which tend to be more costly to use in my opinion, for everyday playing.

The flute exterior is also also spotless. We cannot find one scratch. There are no dings, dents or damage. All pieces fit together properly.

Sankyo Flutes
The Prima Sankyo flutes never disappoint me. I love the more unique qualies of every Prima Sankyo flute. The older flutes are more unique, and very high quality.

This one is a true gem. It was custom ordered by its previous owner.

The key action stays even, smooth, quick. The tone and sound is gorgeous, with much diversity and complexity.

This Sankyo has soldered tone holes. Soldered tone holes are what separate the very very high grade flutes from all others. It is equal to or surpasses just about every flute I have ever played. I have yet to find a brand new flute that comes close in tonal color and sound.

Overall, excellent.

Yamaha 385 (now the 381H)

This is a highly regarded, versatile, durable flute. This flute was made in Japan (not indonesia). It will late a lifetime if taken care of.

This flute produces a deeper darker tone, and needs a bit more wind than the current 381 model flute. Therefore, it would best be suited for intermediate players or those with enough wind to make it sing.
It plays a bit darker and deeper, rather than brighter and lighter.

LeBRET Paris vintage flute rare

Lovely vintage L.L. LeBRET

This flute has a very pretty tone, that is sweet and pure. The key action is very good considering the age of this flute, even and quiet. It plays nicely at A 440 hz.

Appears original, with the original wooden case covered with leather, and lined inside with faux material / red velvet and satin.

Stamped
"L.L LEBRET PARIS 3292 DEPOSE" on the body

Conditon
The structure of this flute is outstandig. All 3 pieces are straight, and fit together as they should. The silver plating shows a few scratches here and there as can be expected. The embochure cut is nice and sharp.

This flute has been reconditioned with pads. There are a few scratches here and there as can be expected from a vintage flute. It is very playable.

The keys and mechanisms are in great shape given the age.

The flutist can expect to make a few small adjustments here and there.

Appropriate for
For the right flutist, a prof., collector, or as a very unique second flute. Not recommended as a band instrument. Needs the right player.

Louis Léon Joseph Lebret (b.1862) is considered to be a part of the famous French makers of Boehm flutes in the 19th century, along with Godfroy, Bonneville, Rive, and Louis Lot.

Lebret first worked for Louis Lot for over a decade and then used his acquired skills to open his own shop and name brand in Paris in 1888. The L.LeBre Flutes are designed similar to the L. Lot flutes, however do have their own unique keywork appearance.

In his own shop, L. Lebret desgined his very own unique and elegante keywork, which is the considered to be the signature appearance of the L. L. Lebret flutes. You will notice a few key elements of the Lebret keywork design:

· The pointed key arms are very protruded in style, considered to be a "raised nipple" pad cup design.

· The mechanism is attached by a longish ball and pillar key arm. Even the tiny F# adjustment lug is similarly sculpted. The spherical key post heads are exaggerated as well, as is the odd base of the thumb key mechanism at the lower left.

· The ball motive is emphasized throughout with club shaped kickers (oddly reminiscent of ball and claw furniture feet). Even the outer edge of the soldered tone hole facings are convex, giving a more rounded impression than the more common angle bevel or concave chamfering.

This is a handmade flute by the Ws. Haynes Company, in the USA (not China). The head joint also was hand made and hand cut in the USA (not china).

This is now called the Haynes Q2 flute, as Haynes has moved production of flutes to China from Boston. TOnly the 100% handmade (very expensive) flutes are made in Boston.

This flute is a GEM, made in the USA, by top notch flute makers. It is also a bargain price, high quality, and will last and last if taken care of properly.

How it sounds
This flute plays with a large modern sound, with even registers and quick response.

It is more modern in tone, open and brighter, slightly airy, and aggressive. We do have head joints that we can offer should the flautist wish a different sound such as more traditional Haynes (smooth Bach like).

A Prof. Flautist with a masters degree from Julliard told me that this was a great flute. He has many students, and plays many different high grade flutes, and we value his opinion.

Yamaha 561H

This is a lovely Yamaha Sterling Silver Flute model 561H. This flute is similar to today’s model 674H. I believe it to be a better flute than the current model (674H).

The 674H just does not compare. This flute has more internal resistance, and requires more wind to sing. It has a rich, deep voice, clear at all (4) octaves.

This flute was previously owned and played by a professional (back up flute).

Condition

The key action is fast, even and quiet. The keys are tight, with no side to side “shift”. The spring action is nice, fast and soft.

It is very clean flute. There are large no dings or dents. There are two small surface indentions on the body underside near the B foot tenon that we could buff out however we prefer not to remove metal (it does not effect tone)

There are also a minor surface scuffs from the very light polish it received. There is no tarnish.

The pads are good (not new). Sealing very well with many years of life left in them. We prefer not to repad as the flute does not need a repad and a repad will cost the flutist (shimming) $$ in technician time as the pads settle in.

Who should play this flute
This flute feels much more substantial, and is "more flute" than the 674H. It does need ample wind and spin to make it sing.

This flute would be perfect for the adult or advancing student that has enough wind, and wind control.

A Jazz professional, Conservatory Student, Adult amature player, advanced student.

I would not recommend this flute for a new(er) player, due to the weight and wind requirements (they just won’t enjoy this flute).

This is a stunning American made, hand carved Native American Flute. This flute has so much detail in the carvings, paintings and markings. It is more lovely when shown in person.

This flute has a haunting, deep gorgeous voice that truely captures the voice of the Native American Flute. I have played many, and this is a stand out.

This flute can be played indoors or outdoors. This flute is not difficult to play, but will take some time to learn the fingering. We have included a fingering chart that is easy to read and follow.

You can also play and make up your songs. This is the part of the Native American Flute that I love the most. It will sound good with your own voice and improvisation.
