Miles Zetner Grenadilla Wood Orchestral Piccolo

This is a lovely handmade orchestral piccolo by Miles Zetner. It plays with a lovely warm, centered tone from low to high. No screech, this sounds like a flute at a higher pitch, warm, woody, clear and sweet at all 4 octaves.

This piccolo was handmade in low volume in the USA by Miles Zetner. It is considered a semi Prof. Piccolo, on of the better piccolos on the market and often played by musicians in major symphonies.

It has wonderful intonation, flexible response, and a fluid blendable tone. This piccolo is sweet, with ample projection and volume.

The keys and mechanisms are ergonomic making it a joy to play.

This piccolo shows minor wear on the silver plated keywork, cosmetic only as the instrument is fabulous. No cracks, the wood is natural and has never cracked.

Every key is in alignment, and the pads are sealing beautifully.

You will not find a higher quality piccolo on the market at this price. The new piccolos are so easy to play, made in China and not made well (brands such as di Zhao, Burkart Global and Resona, Sonare, Brio and all the others).

This while not as high end as the Powell piccolo surely has the tone of a flute yet at a higher pitch, fluid, sweet, and clear.

There are not many of the Zetner piccolos on the market. Miles Zenter, alive and well, made only a few before retiring.

While Keefe and a few others are in hot demand, they are over $6000 and there is a long wait period.

The only in production decent quality piccolo that is under $2K is Yamaha, and the Yamaha 62 pales in comparison to this fine instrument.

Like all of our instruments, this piccolo will be fine tuned by our professional and certified technician. The pads are lovely and seal beautifully. If you wish, we can add Straubinger pads for those needed the projection. This is an added cost of roughly $500.00.
