This is a solid sterling silver head joint from a 1970's hand made solid sterling silver flute.
This head joint produces a very lovely smooth sweeter tone, more characteristic of well known flutist, Jean-Pierre Rampal.
It is very clean, no dents or dings. A few minor surface scratches that could be removed with buffing if the flutists desires. We prefer not to remove metal.
The head joint cork is new.
The V.Q Powell logo is stamped on the front side bottom head joint slightly above the tenon.
This is a .014 wall thickness (thin wall), and will drop into most flutes. You can use this flute head joint on your own flute (sealing with tape or have it expanded), and find that you have a totally unique tone that sets you apart from other players.
It also has a back drop edge that I personally like.
